Self-Contained Washrooms

DURA-LAV Self-Contained Washrooms

A self-contained washroom is a washroom with capability to hold both fresh water and waste water, making it a hygienic alternative to a Johnny-on-the-Spot. Turkstra first started manufacturing self-contained lavatories in 1995 in response to the new Ontario labor law that required job sites with more than 25 people to have flushing toilets on the site.

The DURA-LAV came out in 2003 and is Turkstra’s fourth generation of self-contained washroom. The wood-free construction sets this unit apart from its predecessors. The hot dipped galvanized structure that replaced the wood framing provides a durable product that does not absorb odors making the DURA-LAV an aesthetic, hygienic self-contained washroom.

We are currently producing the second generation of DURA-LAVs. These units come with both a direct water line and a fresh water tank. They also have optional power feeds making them the most user friendly product on the market.

OPTIONAL FEATURES

Tranportaiton Method: Skidded, wheeled, or craned: Most portable toilet rental companies prefer the wheeled washrooms because they can be moved from site to site with a standard pick up truck, but some companies prefer skidded DURA_LAVs because multiple units can be loaded onto a trailer at the same time.
120 volt power: Because not all sites have access to 240 volt power, Turkstra developed a way for the SCW to be powered by 120 volt receptacles.
Air Conditioning: Not all washroom sites have need for cooling, but if your clients host a Wedding or a Party, cooling may be required.

Remote washrooms are all custom built for the customer’s needs. They differ both in size and function. Some washrooms are limited to toilets and sinks, but many have showers and washers and dryers. The example shown here is a day use 12’x26′ washroom.

All of our washroom buildings are custom manufactured. The configuration can include showers, toilets, sinks, urinals, slop sinks, or any other plumbing fixture.
Any washroom building can be set up with a self-contained tank. Our self-contained lavatories have their own waste tanks and come with both a direct water line and a fresh water tank.
Our remote building washrooms are the aesthetic, hygienic alternative to the Johnny On the Spot.

Multi-Room Washroom

Multi-Room Washroom buildings contain many private rooms designed for one user per room. These buildings are commonly found on campgrounds. They are custom manufactured and may contain rooms with just bench and showers, rooms with just a sink and toilet, rooms with no plumbing for change rooms and rooms with clothes washing faclities.
